Ashanti Anderson

Fall 2015 Session

Ashanti Anderson is a senior psychology major at Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. She intends to enter an MFA program in poetry upon graduation, and has started a program for middle- and high-school students in which poetry- and song-writing is used to facilitate learning and growth, educationally and emotionally. Anderson would like to see herself as a transformative language artist, and seeks to facilitate discussion about community and race relations through her poetry.
