Jen Benka is the executive director of the Academy of American Poets. In her role she advocates for poets and poetry and oversees Poets.org, Poem-a-Day, National Poetry Month, prizes, readings, and more. She is the author of two books of poetry and holds an MFA from the New School.
Robin Coste Lewis was born in Compton, CA. She received a PhD in creative writing and literature from the University of Southern California, an MFA in creative writing from New York University, and an MTS from the Divinity School at Harvard University. She is the author of Voyage of the Sable Venus, winner of the National Book Award in poetry. Lewis is the writer-in-residence at the University of Southern California. The recipient of a 2019 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship and a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship, she was appointed the poet laureate of Los Angeles in 2017.
Raquel Salas Rivera is the 2018–19 poet paureate of Philadelphia. They are a Puerto Rican poet, editor, and translator and the inaugural recipient of the Ambroggio Prize from the Academy of American Poets.
TC Tolbert’s works of poetry include Gephyromania, I: Not He: Not I, and territories of folding. S/he is coeditor of Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics. Tucson's Poet Laureate, s/he has been a member of Movement Salon, a compositional improvisation ensemble, since 2007.
